How to play

PlanetMusic is a daily music geography game. Each question names an artist, a venue, a festival, a genre or an instrument, and your job is to tap the map where it happened.

The basics

Every day there is one round of five questions, the same for everyone.
The round changes at 00:00 UTC. Questions in the daily round never repeat.
Tap the map where you think it is. Changed your mind? Tap somewhere else and the pin moves. When you are happy, tap Confirm.
While you answer, the map shows no city names. They appear when the answer is revealed.

What we ask

Artists: where a singer, musician or composer was born.
Venues: where a concert hall, opera house, club or studio is.
Festivals: where a music festival takes place.
Genres: the city where a style of music was born.
Instruments: where an instrument was born, from the piano to the bandoneon.

How points work

Each answer is worth up to 200 points. If your pin lands within 25 km of the right place, you get all 200. Further away, points drop gradually, so a near miss still scores well. A full round is worth up to 1,000 points.

Colours

🟢 180 points or more: very close.
🟡 100 to 179 points: on the right track.
⚪ under 100 points: far away.

If all five answers score 200 each, it is a perfect round and you win the gold record.

Streak

Your streak counts the days in a row you finished the daily round. Miss a day and it starts again. Your streak and progress are saved on your phone or computer: reloading the page loses nothing, but switching devices or clearing your browser data starts them from zero.

Bonus round

Besides the daily round, you can play one bonus round a day in the style you know best: classical, rock, jazz, tango, Argentine rock, Brazilian music, Latin pop and more. New styles appear as we add questions. Your choice is fixed when you confirm the first answer; the other styles wait until tomorrow.

Sharing

When you finish you can share your result on WhatsApp, X or stories. What gets shared is colours and points, never the answers, so nobody spoils anyone else's round.
